James’s vision is to challenge small business owners to realize their dreams through aligning their business goals with their personal goals. He chose to become an ACTION business coach so that he could share his business knowledge and life experiences he has acquired during his time working in the corporate world and as a small business owner to help small business owners achieve success.
James took a huge challenge in 1990, leaving a senior role at Ogilvy and Mather in the UK and immigrating to Australia, having never been there, knowing no one and not having a job.
James has extensive business, general management, marketing, communications, planning and team building skills. These were gained primarily from working at the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games as marketing manager, through the set up, growth and sale of his own business, Octopus Communications Group and the setting up and marketing of Hand 2 Hand Media Pty Ltd. He has over 20 years experience working across a wide range of industry sectors in both the UK and Australia.
The success of his own business is due to James’s management and leadership qualities as well as his enthusiasm to get the fun back into business. He brings this same enthusiasm to improving the lives and businesses of his clients. James believes in the pursuit of knowledge and has acquired a HND in Business Administration, a Diploma in Marketing and a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Administration. He realizes the importance of continually learning and challenging oneself. He is passionate about sharing what he learns with the people he comes in contact with.
James strongly believes in the benefits of every business owner working with a Business Coach. He will work with you to develop a profitable business with a sound financial base, with a focus on achieving excellent customer service and increased performance.
James enjoys life to the full. He is a passionate father and gains inspiration from watching and helping his children to grow and flourish. He enjoys travelling, golf, surfing, soccer, rugby and the arts.
